Apprentices
The OSP Transfer Your Skills and Work Habits activity can help you to:
- understand how workers in your occupation use their Essential Skills everyday! Essential Skills provide the foundation for learning other skills, such as technical and job/workplace skills. Building strong Essential Skills can help ensure that you can learn the technical skills and job/workplace skills that are an integral part of a successful apprenticeship.
- make connections between the skills and work habits you have already demonstrated at home, in school, in the community and in previous workplace experiences with the requirements of your occupation. This can help you successfully communicate your strengths in a résumé, a cover letter or during an interview.
- plan for future training goals, volunteer or other types of workplace opportunities that will help you gather more evidence of your skills and work habits.
